Weekly Proof of the Afterlife by Calleen Wilder

This is a small example of how those in Spirit not only hear us, they respond. Some may think this is coincidental… but I’ve been in the “talking to Spirit” business long enough to know, there really are no coincidences. HA!

Anyway, you all know (via last week’s post) I’m in the midst of some pretty big changes, particularly involving my career (more on that later in December). As a result of these changes, the self-questioning I’m so terribly good at (lol… and yes I am), I thought it might be best if I ask spirit if I’m making good decisions.

Well in truth, I guess I wasn’t only asking about my business life, but my entire life in general. After all, we all have our wants and our needs. Yet I know how often I’ve been tremendously relieved I did NOT get what I wanted. SO… I ask.

As a result of asking so many questions, often and repeatedly (I’m sure those on the other wide want to blow a fuse sometimes) I’ve learned to ask for signs, for in-put, for any little old thing they can show me that might help me to understand.

In a nutshell, later that morning, Thanksgiving morning to be exact, I was sitting in a parking lot waiting to pick up a carry-out we had ordered (it’s only the two of us now so I keep it simple) one solitary honey bee landed on my car windshield.

Now, I hadn’t been in the car parking lot for more than two to three minutes. I was surrounded by retail establishments, in a very large blacktop parking lot, with no flowers or grass in site. Still, here was this one little solitary, slightly tired looking, honey bee landing directly in front of my eyes. I couldn’t have missed it if I tried. How crazy is that? I’ve never had that happen before. Not even in the heat of summer. But there he was, or she… sitting there looking as confused and dazed as I was.

When I got home, after eating naturally, I Googled what Honey Bees stood for, and this is what I found:

NOW seriously friends… is that not crazy? For those willing to listen, it’s a small, but very meaningful, minor miracle. Particularly considering it was Thanksgiving morning, as I lay in bed after waking, when I was asking for insight… guidance… perhaps even reassurance.

So ask. Whatever it is you’re needing help with, ask about it. You can say it out loud, as I did, or you can mentally ask. I just think it’s clearer when they don’t have to read your mind. Not sure if I’m accurate about that or not, but just in case, I say it out into the ethers.

THEN… receive and believe. That’s it. Small miracles happen daily if you trust “them” enough. I can’t imagine not receiving these miracles, they keep me semi-sane.

Travel Channel’s KINDRED SPIRITS Returns with New Season of Mind-Bending Hauntings by Josh Millican

Professional paranormal investigators Amy Bruni, Adam Berry, and psychic medium Chip Coffey are used to communicating with ghosts. But with paranormal activity more rampant than ever, they’re facing hauntings unlike anything they’ve seen yet in the new 10-episode season of Kindred Spirits, premiering Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Investigating America’s rich haunted history, Bruni, Berry, and Coffey dig deep into the past to identify the restless spirits haunting the country’s oldest inns, homes, and estates. Utilizing a range of tools and techniques, their multilayered investigations tackle frightening tales of possession, aggressive entities, and even an eerie, centuries-old mystery involving a murder conviction based on the “testimony” of a ghost. Together, the team elicit shocking evidence and connections with the other side that lead them closer to the truth, as they search for answers behind each haunted tale.

“Amy, Adam, and Chip are always challenging themselves and this season is no exception,” said Matthew Butler, general manager, Travel Channel. “The history in these locations is downright creepy and scary – their return to the John Proctor House in Salem is especially exciting as they revisit the mysterious activity exhumed during their memorable investigation of the building during our Haunted Salem Live special.”

In the season premiere, “Devil in Salem,” Amy Bruni, Adam Berry, and psychic medium Chip Coffey travel to Salem, Massachusetts, to investigate the home of John Proctor – one of the men executed during the infamous witch trials. It’s not the team’s first time at this renowned location having visited once before during a special Travel Channel event that was broadcast live. During the event, they opened a gateway to the dead using powerful magic, which allowed them to communicate with spirits from the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. Now, the team returns to Salem to launch a full-fledged investigation and learn more about the gateway they previously opened … and who came out of it.

Upcoming episodes this season include:

“Zombie Boy” – Premieres Saturday, January 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

“False Witness” – Premieres Saturday, January 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

In 1673, Rebecca Cornell was found murdered in her Rhode Island home. Days later, her ghost testified against her son! Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and Chip Coffey attempt to conjure the spirits who played a part in the centuries-old crime and reveal the truth.

“Shadowed” – Premieres Saturday, January 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

The new owners of the Toboggan Inn fear an aggressive entity that resides in the building. Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and psychic medium Chip Coffey travel to Eagle Bay, New York, where they conduct a groundbreaking experiment that bears shocking results.https://e865d0feca7d96e1367d2384a5a9b214.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-37/html/container.html

“Libby House” (wt) – Premieres Saturday, January 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

9 real-life haunted houses you can visit across the US – if you dare by Tarah Chieffi

All haunted homes have at least one thing in common (other than ghosts, of course). Be it gruesome murders, tragic misfortune or simply a previous resident not quite ready to move on, all haunted houses have a story to tell.

Here are the curious histories and spooky phenomena of nine haunted homes you can still visit.

Villisca Axe Murder House

Villisca, Iowa

In June 1912, prominent Iowa businessman Josiah Moore, his family and two guests were murdered in what is now known as the Villisca Axe Murder House. There were many suspects (including a state senator), but none of them was found guilty of the crime. A number of paranormal investigations and tours have uncovered disembodied voices, moving objects and other mysterious occurrences. The brave can stay overnight in the home. Daytime tours are available but will end after Halloween.

Belle Grove Plantation

King George, Virginia

Guests of Belle Grove Plantation report they have seen apparitions of Union soldiers and interacted with the spirit of a playful young boy named Jacob. Now operating as a bed and breakfast, Belle Grove hosts weekly ghost hunting tours and paranormal events throughout the year, capped by a two-night bash scheduled for Halloween weekend.

Lemp Mansion

St. Louis

Beer baron William Lemp Sr. died by suicide in his family’s mansion in 1904 after losing one of his sons to illness three years earlier. Two of his heirs would later shoot themselves in the same house. William Jr. shot himself in 1922 after Prohibition killed what was left of a once-thriving company. Another, Charles Lemp, died by suicide one room over in 1949.  Today, visitors can dine at the mansion (including mystery dinner events), stay overnight, or take a ghost tour to decide for themselves if the ghosts of the Lemp family still reside in the home.

Lizzie Borden House

Fall River, Massachusetts

The Lizzie Borden House was the site of one of Massachusetts’ longest-standing unsolved crimes. On Aug. 4, 1892, Andrew Borden and his second wife, Abby, were murdered with a hatchet. The younger of his two adult daughters, 32-year-old Lizzie, was the main suspect but was eventually acquitted by a all-male jury after news coverage that doubted an upper-class lady was capable of committing such a heinous crime. Fans of the macabre can take a guided tour of the home to search for supernatural clues that may help solve the mystery.

COVID-19 note: Tickets must be purchased in advance. Each tour is limited to 10 people and masks are required.

Winchester Mystery House

San Jose, California

Sarah Winchester, widow of William Wirt Winchester and heiress to his Winchester Repeating Arms fortune, spent 36 years transforming the Winchester Mystery House into a vast and unusual Victorian mansion. The home has 10,000 windows and 2,000 doors, reportedly intended to confuse the evil spirits lurking in the home. Several tours are available, including a virtual tour you can take from home.

Culbertson Mansion

New Albany, Indiana

William Culbertson was once one of the richest men in Indiana during the latter half of the 1800s, and the stately Culbertson Mansion is a testament to his wealth. Tours focus more on the history of the home than any haunted happenings, but staff and visitors have documented many events that can’t be explained. On the list are puffs of cigar smoke appearing out of thin air, lights turning on and off, and ghostly visages roaming the halls.

Sallie House

Atchison, Kansas

The Sallie House, once home to Atchison’s town physician, was named for a girl who died during an emergency appendectomy in 1906. Legend has it that the doctor had no choice but to begin the surgery before the anesthesia took effect, and girl’s last memory was of being tortured.

The home has sat unoccupied since the last tenants moved out in 1993. They blamed their exit on several unnerving incidents they had experienced, including fires that sparked out of nowhere, objects moved on their own, and experiencing a chill in the room where Sallie died. If you still need convincing that her ghost haunts the home, you can book a tour or overnight stay.

The Myrtles Plantation

St. Francisville, Louisiana

Myrtles Plantation is billed as one of America’s most haunted homes, with ghost stories that date back to the late 1700s. Like other Deep South plantations, Myrtles has a sordid history with slavery, and the ghost of a girl who is believed to have been enslaved on the plantation has been captured on film. The home now serves as a bed and breakfast and restaurant but also offers tours.

Whaley House

San Diego

The Whaley House has been the site of a series of deaths. Legend has it the ghost of a man hanged on the grounds can be heard stomping through the halls, and specters of the Whaley family who once resided there have reportedly been spotted as well. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait to take a tour: the house is closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ghost Nation Delivering Two-Hour Halloween Special on Travel Channel by Patrick Cavanaugh

The Travel Channel announced earlier this month that Ghost Nation would be premiering its new season in October, with today bringing the exciting news that the ghost-hunting series will be delivering audiences a two-hour investigation in honor of Halloween. More than just being an extended investigation, the event is billed as the “Reunion in Hell,” as it will see stars Jason HawesSteve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango reunite with some of their former Ghost Hunters stars Amy Bruni and Adam Berry, who can currently be seen in their own series Kindred Spirits. Tune in to the special event on Saturday, October 31st at 8 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel.

Per press release, “Revelers can celebrate Halloween night with the ultimate series crossover, joining forces with old friends Amy Bruni and Adam Berry from Kindred Spirits. The ghost hunting teams reunite for the first time in nearly a decade (they starred together on SYFY’s Ghost Hunters) to explore frightening activity inside an illustrious Newport, Rhode Island, mansion in Ghost Nation: Reunion in Hell, a special two-hour episode premiering Saturday, October 31st at 8 p.m. ET.”

“We are ecstatic to get back to doing what we love, and we have some incredible cases to share,” Hawes shared in a statement. “We were able to reconnect with our longtime friends Amy Bruni and Adam Berry. It seemed like time had stood still over the last 10 years as we rolled right into investigating and gathering some mind-blowing evidence and experiences.”

“Working with Amy and Adam was an absolute blast and the investigation was phenomenal. It was really interesting meshing our techniques together and it yielded some amazing results,” said Gonsalves.

“You’ll also be seeing some other familiar faces this season as well,” adds Tango. “I’m hoping the more people tune into Ghost Nation, the more they will see how accessible we are. We’re here to help everyone, and thankfully, having so many investigators in our network makes it possible for us to do that.”

On all investigations, collecting evidence is just the beginning. With the help of their local contacts, the team embeds themselves in the community, conducting multi-day investigations in an effort to track down the true source of these hauntings and restore peace to the living. Under the United Paranormal Research Organization (UPRO) banner, it isn’t only Hawes, Gonsalves, and Tango facing off against an unseen entity. Local paranormal groups, sometimes even the homeowners themselves, join the team as they employ new devices and techniques for confronting and questioning spirits. They’ll do whatever it takes to entice the ghost into telling its story and stop at nothing to get to the bottom of the paranormal phenomena.

In the premiere episode, “Evil Ink,” Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti investigate the paranormal events plaguing the Zone13 Tattoo and Body Piercing shop in New Jersey. They head to the town of Deptford to investigate the tattoo shop where disturbing apparitions, disembodied voices, and even physical encounters are threatening the business. After their own investigation, it seems that whatever noises the team are hearing are following them as they move. With all these strange happenings and fresh evidence, the UPRO team will determine if the shop is actually haunted by one of the property’s former owners, a woman named Bertha.

Additional episodes include:

“911 Fear Factory” – Premieres Saturday, October 24th at 9 p.m. ET

Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti head to Millville, New Jersey, to help desperate factory owners deal with paranormal events tormenting them and their workers. The owners hope to repurpose a former glass factory and bring jobs to the community, but claims of noises, voices, apparitions and even physical altercations, have ground renovations to a halt. Just as the UPRO team is hot on the trail of what’s causing the activity, a medical emergency jeopardizes the entire investigation.

“Ghost Nation: Reunion In Hell” – Premieres Saturday, October 31st at 8 p.m. ET

(Two-Hour Crossover Special With Amy Bruni and Adam Berry From Kindred Spirits)

In this spine-tingling, two-hour Halloween special, “Ghost Nation” stars Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango are calling in their old paranormal pals, Amy Bruni and Adam Berry of Kindred Spirits, to reopen a case that has taken a sinister turn. Seaview Terrace is the 40,000-square-foot Rhode Island mansion famous for being featured on the TV show Dark Shadows, but the owners were shocked to find out that a recent visitor – a self-proclaimed warlock – had performed some sort of blasphemous ceremony in the house. Now, they’re experiencing a shift in the mansion’s energy, unleashing something more menacing. The team scours 100 years of history to discover a notorious patchwork past, filled with lavish high society parties and possibly a scandalous murder.

“Evil in the Attic” – Premieres Saturday, November 7th at 9 p.m. ET

Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti return to Glen Spey, New York, home of the historic – and historically haunted – Burn Brae Mansion. The property owners have called the team back to investigate the recent spike in paranormal activity, which they believe might be caused by a sealed-off room discovered in the attic. Now, UPRO is going to break down the wall and see what secrets lurk inside.

“Antique Shop of Horrors” – Premieres Saturday, November 14th at 9 p.m. ET

Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti head to Bozrah, Connecticut, to investigate a potential haunting plaguing the Primitive Crow antique shop. After expanding her store, owner Beth Coletti began experiencing a spike in paranormal activity. With customers frightened to return, and her lifelong dream hanging in the balance, the team searches for answers before Beth is forced to shut her doors for good.

“Stairway to Hell” – Premieres Saturday, November 21st at 9 p.m. ET

Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti head to central New Jersey to investigate a haunting that hits close to home for Dave. Joined by his father, Bruce Tango, the team descends on the town of Matawan and the striking Colonial-era Burrowes Mansion. On a prior visit to the property, Bruce says he saw the apparition of a little girl, a life-altering sighting that seems to back up one of the many long-held claims of paranormal activity. During their investigation, the team hear unexplained footsteps, voices and other anomalies. Perhaps their most alarming discovery is in the notoriously active attic, site of the property’s former slave quarters – a mysterious set of markings that just might hold the key to unlocking the disturbances rocking Burrowes Mansion.0COMMENTS

Tune in to the season premiere of Ghost Nation on Saturday, October 17th and watch the Halloween special on October 31st.

You can now hire a ‘home exorcist’ to help cleanse and sell your haunted home by Adam Forgie

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Would you purchase a house rumored to be haunted?

If you said no, you’re among the 61% of Americans that would not buy a home if they thought it was haunted, according to a new study.

To help owners of “haunted homes” cleanse their property — you can now hire a home exorcist to get rid of bad vibes, ghosts, and demons.

A survey done by ISoldMyHouse.com asked 5,000 Americans about ” their supernatural beliefs to gauge the impact the paranormal has on selling a property,” a news release stated.

You can now hire a ‘home exorcist’ to help cleanse and sell your haunted home. (ISoldMyHouse.com)

The study found the following about Americans:

  • 55% admit to believing in ghosts or spirits
  • 36% reported a paranormal experience
  • 61% would not buy a home if they thought it was haunted
  • A home rumored to be haunted will stay on the market 133 days longer than the average home
  • 27% reported a “harmless” experience with a ghost/spirit, such as items being moved
  • 9% said their paranormal experience was “aggressive,” such as disturbing noises, physical pain, or items being thrown or broken
  • 19% have talked with a psychic or priest about a supernatural event

To help combat these statistics, ISoldMyHouse.com is partnering to offer a home exorcism service, which is free. The website explains how it all works:

We’ve partnered with an exorcist to offer a ‘home exorcism’ service that will ensure your property is empty of any apparitions and suitable for the 61% of Americans who would rather not buy a haunted house (approximately 202,024,401 people!).”

The free service will be facilitated initially by a remote video call between the homeowner and our exorcist, who will be able to diagnose the issue (if there is one) and offer advice on how to deal with any paranormal activity. In the case that a home visit is required, the homeowner and exorcist can discuss costs moving forward.”

The study also found the most haunted states, according to where people report ghost sightings and hauntings. The top ten, according to ISoldMyHouse.com are:

  2. Massachusetts – Drive down Route 44 near the Seekonk-Rehoboth and prepare to see the Red-Headed Spectre, a red haired ghostly lumberjack. Sightings report seeing him not only on the side of the road, but also in the backseat cars.
  3. Texas – In Southern Texas, there is the Yorktown Memorial Hospital, where patients whose deaths were caused by neglect or medical error reportedly roam the hallways.

Kris Lippi, founder at ISoldMyHouse.com, said:

With technology and camera quality getting better and better, it’s no wonder that people are managing to capture evidence of potential paranormal activity and as such, I think it’s also no wonder that there is an increasing number of people who believe in ghosts, spirits and the like. It’s a subject that’s really fascinating. That being said, trying to sell a house can be a stressful life event at the best of times, let alone when adding the possibility of a house being haunted into the mix. I hope this new service can really help to put people at ease, and will continue to make house sales quick and easy for our customers.”

Numerology: Does your birth date decide your fate? By Kaitlyn Kaerhart

Every one of us is born with a personal ‘cosmic code’, as unique as our thumbprints, says numerologist Kaitlyn Kaerhart. Decipher it and you can discover your life’s purpose and even predict your future

What is Numerology?

It’s an ancient branch of esoteric wisdom similar to astrology, but instead of looking to the planets for answers, numerology finds meaning through numbers. It has existed for as long as we’ve had numerals and was found in ancient societies including China, India and the Roman Empire. Numerologists were consulted regularly before the rise of Christianity, which banned anything that was thought to be occult. When you stop to think about it, the universe is constantly sending us messages through numbers. Scientists measure time and space, sound and light through mathematical equations. We are interpreting numbers all the time, whether consciously or subconsciously.

How it works

The Greek philosopher Pythagoras was one of the first to popularise the study of numbers. He created the Pythagorean numerology system that uses the Western or Latin alphabet and the numerals 1 to 9. Each letter of the alphabet is linked to one of these numbers.

Numerology operates on the belief that we choose our birthdays based upon our experiences in past lives. It’s why the most important figure in numerology is your Life Path Number (which is based on your birth date). It can help to reveal the foundation of your life and the person you are meant to become. It offers insight into your gifts, strengths, weaknesses, talents, the challenges you will face and, ultimately, your calling.

Use the box to work out your Life Path Number. Remember every number must be reduced to a single digit unless it is a Master Number – 11, 22 or 33 (seeour other breakout box). Then find out what your Life Path Number reveals about you…

Work out your own Life Path Number. Prince Harry is on Life Path 1

 1 The Independent Leader

Key Terms: innovation, leadership, independence, imaginative, creative

The 1s are society’s initiators, innovators and visionaries. Highly creative and intuitive, 1s are constantly thinking outside the box, while remaining razor sharp and focused on goals.

New ideas and new beginnings feature prominently in the life of a 1 but they can feel very isolated. Life Path 1 will stumble and fall more than most and often feel misunderstood and that they don’t fit in. It’s not that they aren’t liked, it’s simply that they think differently. If you are a Life Path 1 self-doubt will be your biggest struggle, so learn to embrace your uniqueness and trust yourself.

Famous 1s: Prince Harry, Arianna Huffington

2 The Peacekeeper

Key Terms: sensitive, partnership, harmony, diplomacy, tact

The most resilient number, the 2 leads with the heart just as much as with the rational mind. ‘Slow and steady wins the race’ could be one of Life Path 2’s mottos.

Humble and genuine, the 2 is happiest when supporting others. Partnership and collaboration are also very important through romance or career.

The 2s dislike confrontation but, by avoiding conflict, feel they no longer have a voice, so it is important that they resolve issues without compromising their own needs.

The 2s also put their heart and soul into everything with the expectation that things will work out, so if plans go awry, they can feel hurt and discouraged. The key to 2s finding peace is for them to realise that they must leave room for error and focus on balance in all areas of life.

Famous 2s: Pierce Brosnan, Jodie Foster

3 The Communicator

Famous Life path 3, Ellie Goulding

Key Terms: creative, enthusiastic, inspirational, motivational

Known as the ‘sunshine number’ because 3s are animated, excitable and have an enthusiastic attitude that is highly infectious. These are the true lovers of life. The number 3 has always been considered sacred – so if your path is 3, mysticism could play a role in your life.

The 3 can get caught up in negative aspects of self-expression, becoming judgmental and indulging in gossip. This Life Path tends to be more emotionally sensitive and highly empathetic, soaking up the emotions of all those around them and this can cause them to shut down.

The 3s must learn the art of patience while dealing with conflict. Their greatest challenge is to remember to always shine their light and communicate their most authentic self, regardless of how it is received.

Famous 3s: Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran

4 The Builder

Key Terms: practical, analytical, dependable

The 4s create systems that make a positive impact on themselves and society as a whole – they are the builders and teachers among us. Their destiny is to achieve great success through unrelenting hard and challenging work.

They shine brightest when they have a strict routine. The 4 can be inflexible, stubborn and resistant to change, believing that their way is the only way. In a 4’s mind, they always know what’s best. It is important that they learn not to project their incredibly high standards on to others and especially not to hold themselves to standards that simply are not attainable.

Famous 4s: Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Elton John

5 The Traveller

Key Terms: impulsive, courageous, free-spirited

Ah, the adventurous, lively and freedom- seeking 5! If this is your path, expect to ride a cosmic wave of constant change and transformation throughout your lifetime. The 5 is the most adaptable of all the numbers and always up for any challenge.

Travel plays a huge role in their destiny. They are not meant to stay in one place – or job – for their whole life. A 5’s gift is in pushing the boundaries and showing others that it’s OK to do the same. But 5s run the risk of giving in to hedonism and can be easily distracted, juggling too many projects at once and prioritising immediate gratification above all else. They need to understand their limitations and recognise that some self-restraint is required to have a healthy relationship with freedom.

famous 5s: Angelina Jolie, JK Rowling, Russell Brand

6 The Nurturer

Famous Life Path 6, Victoria Beckham

Key Terms: responsible, motherly, feminine

This is the most love-centred number, aside from Master Number 33 (see far right). These are the people who will go to the ends of the earth for those they care about. Their purpose is to learn how to strike a balance between what they give and what they receive, and between a loving home and a satisfying work life.

The 6 has incredible strength and is not afraid to show it, especially when protecting loved ones. But their shadow side is that they can give too much of themselves until there’s nothing left.

If you are a 6, you may struggle with perfectionism and idealism and can hold yourself to unreasonably high standards. You also have a tendency to place others on a pedestal, only to be disappointed when you learn that everyone has faults.

Lean into the relationships that feel balanced and let the rest go – and remember, no one is perfect.

Famous 6s: Victoria Beckham, John Lennon

Key Terms: introvert, knowledge, truth, spirituality

Incredibly private, 7’s journey is often a solitary and inward one. They have an incredible gift of being able to ignore the outside world and stay focused on their mission.

They want to be in control of how others see them and do not want their personal business out in the open. This can sometimes lead to them being reclusive or isolated.

In order to reach their fullest potential, 7s need to learn to trust their gut feeling enough to share their vision with the world.

Famous 7s: Leonardo DiCaprio, Janet Jackson, Julia Roberts

8 The Powerhouse

Famous Life Path 8, Harry Styles

Key Terms: money, power, discipline, ambition

When you meet a Life Path 8, you usually know it. There is an intense energy about 8s – they go after what they want with an insatiable hunger. The 8 is incredibly ambitious and understands the power of perseverance and being goal-oriented.

The Life Path 8 is the bridge between the material and spiritual world. They are here to master the art of success through money and status, but they run the risk of being overly materialistic and can lose sight of what truly matters. The 8s can also be reckless with money. Staying grounded with a strong sense of purpose will allow the 8 to have a healthy relationship with money.

If you are a Life Path 8 you should try to come from a place of compassion. You are abundant and ambitious with significant power – channel this into doing good for the world.

Famous 8s: Jane Fonda, Harry Styles

9 The Humanitarian

Key Terms: philanthropist, idealist, sacrifice, integrity

An incredibly transformative and very powerful number, the 9 is philanthropic and driven by a desire to give back. It is not an easy path to walk, but the 9’s eagerness to help others and make the world a better place is genuine.

The shadow side of 9s is that they forget themselves in their quest to be of service to others, leading to them taking on too much, which can end in burnout and being overwhelmed. This path should not carry the weight of the world on its shoulders.

The 9 is also the number associated with endings and has a running theme of sacrifice. This can be an incredibly painful and challenging process. The more 9s try to hold on to things that are not in alignment with their future, the more resistance they meet.

The 9s must learn that sometimes holding on to attachments causes more pain than letting go.

Famous 9s: Ghandi, Mother Teresa, Yoko Ono

These numbers carry a powerful frequency that can bring about change in the world.

How to Feng Shui with Houseplants, Based on Your Astrological Sign by NICOLETTA RICHARDSON

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese art that’s all about finding a balance and harmony in your surrounding environment. It’s no simple act, but the very basics include decluttering, softening features, bringing air into the space, and—one of my personal favorites—introducing more plants.

When creating good feng shui, there are five elements that are crucial to incorporate: fire, water, earth, metal, and wood. According to feng shui expert Clara Leung, who runs her own business Clara’s Green House and has sold over 3,000 plants on Facebook Marketplace, plants are an excellent representation of the wood element.

“Wood is very likely to have something to do with the color green, and together, they convey the essence of this wonderful thing called ‘life’ itself,” Leung tells Apartment Therapy. “While I strongly believe that live houseplants work in endlessly amazing ways that we cannot see with our naked eyes, they also serve as excellent visual reminders of our daily pursuit of the maximization of positivity and happiness in each of our own lives.”

Leung sees big connections between feng shui and astrology, and says viewing it through this lens can help you understand when the practice is needed most. For example, if Leung is an Aquarius and her roommate is a Taurus—two signs that are known to be incompatible—she says that “adding feng shui houseplants and elements can reduce tension and increase positive energy in the house.” That isn’t to say you always need a conflict of interest—many of Leung’s clients are simply strong believers of astrology and want to incorporate it more into their home—but understanding your compatibility as signs with those you share space with helps determine the need for feng shui.

In order to help you practice feng shui with plants in your own home, Leung went through each astrological sign and recommended the best houseplant to create this desired harmony and balance.

Aries (March 21 — April 19): Aloe Vera

With a courageous spirit that is often spontaneous, Aries should feng shui with an aloe vera houseplant. Leung described this plant as embodying brave and strong characteristics, both of which complement Aries’ determined nature.

Taurus (April 20 — May 20): Money Tree

A Taurus is known for being practical and stable with their hardworking ethos and clever way of thinking. Leung matched Taurean’s energy with the money tree, officially known as the Pachira aquatic tree, that contributes loyalty and financial prosperity.

Gemini (May 21 — June 20): Monstera Deliciosa (Split Leaf)

Geminis are known for their optimism and ability to adapt to new environments, which is due to their love for socializing. The split leaf represents positivity and happiness, according to Leung—in other words, a Gemini’s actual twin.

Cancer (June 21 — July 22): Jade

Cancers are in touch with their emotions and are extremely honest—but get on their bad side, and they will hold a grudge. As a succulent, jade plants love to soak up water, and they will visually let you know when it’s time for feeding (there’s that honesty). Leung also describes them as careful and protective.

Leo (July 23 — August 22): Ponytail Palm

Leos are full of joy and love to show enthusiasm whenever they get the chance. The ponytail palm projects similar good energy, with a spring in its leaves that projects happiness. Leung also emphasizes the ponytail palm’s characteristic of being imaginative, a trait that Leos love to express to others.

Virgo (August 23 — September 22): Rubber Tree

As an earth sign, Virgos are known for being reliable, responsible, and—quite frankly—perfectionists. A rubber plant is the ideal houseplant for feng shui in a Virgos home, according to Leung, which has good energy that supports “finance” and “responsibility.”

Libra (September 23 — October 22): Monstera Adansonii

Libras can be described as fair-minded, cooperative, easy-going, and gracious, with an overarching air of romanticism. The Monstera Adansonii—also known as the five holes plant for obvious reasons—complements this sign with its happy and pleasurable vibes.

Scorpio (October 23 — November 21): Dracaena

With a mysterious air about them, Scorpios are known to be extremely observant and have an intense emotional depth to them. Leung mentioned that a dracaena is a compatible match for feng shui because of its protective yet happy traits.

Sagittarius (November 22 — December 21): Alocasia

Sagittarians enjoy their independency and practice it through their global mindset. Often taking an idealistic point of view, a Sagittarius can turn to an alocasia to feng shui their home, which has protective and careful characteristics to help a Sag stay grounded.

Capricorn (December 22 — January 19): Bonsai

This sign is all about hard work. A Capricorn’s ambition and determination to achieve goals is so intense that it can be perceived by others as stubborn. According to Leung, a bonsai projects seriousness energy and financial prosperity that supports this lifestyle.

Aquarius (January 20 — February 18): Marble Queen Pothos

Aquarians are humanitarians who think outside the box, with an easy going personality that brews up inventive ideas. The Marble Queen Pothos, flowing freely from its planter in every which way, brings good energy and happiness to a space.

Pisces (February 19 — March 20): Benjamina Ficus Tree

As a water sign, Pisces are emotional dreamers with their heads often in the clouds. They channel their energy in various forms of artistic forms, and the Bejamina ficus tree fosters this creativity with art-minded, motivational characteristics.

Nicole Kidman delivered one of her greatest performances in an eerie reincarnation drama by Beatrice Loayza

Not sure if I saw this back then, but stumbled upon this article and for sure am going to watch now. Thought you might be interested in it as well. Calleen

Birth (2004)

Birth, the second film by Under The Skindirector Jonathan Glazer, plumbs the depths of grief and love with an unsettling hypothetical: What if a young boy showed up at your doorstep claiming to be your reincarnated dead husband? And what if you believed him? While the film doesn’t quite succeed in balancing art-house ambiguity with torrid melodrama, its mashup of dreamy, high-society elegance and psychological violence nonetheless has a lingering effect. Co-scripted by Jean-Claude Carrière, Birth in part recalls the haut-bourgeois twilight zones of the French screenwriter’s regular collaborator, surrealism pioneer Luis Buñuel. And as in some of Buñuel’s best work, the surreal premise isn’t really the point so much as the spark for a spectacular fallout—and arguably Nicole Kidman’s best performance to date.

Donning a Mia Farrow or Jean Seberg-esque pixie cut, Kidman plays Anna, a wealthy widow living in the Upper East Side with her new fiancé, Joseph (Danny Huston), following the death of her husband Sean 10 years prior. The couple’s engagement party is interrupted by the arrival of young “Sean” (Cameron Bright), a boy with penetrating blue eyes that seem to contain passion and wisdom beyond their years. No one takes him seriously, of course, when he claims with startling matter-of-factness that Anna cannot marry another man because she is married to him. Yet over the course of several days, he reveals intimate knowledge of Sean’s life—the very spot in Central Park where he died, the sofa on which he and Anna used to have sex. Might Sean be trapped inside this small, pale body? Anna, still traumatized by Sean’s indifferent treatment of her in life, and still grieving his death nearly a decade later, is all too willing to believe the impossible—not just that her husband has returned, but that he has returned full of love for her.

An unexpectedly tidy resolution somewhat derails the central love story, but Glazer wrings more out of Anna’s emotional journey than just romance. It’s never clear what she does for a living, if anything. She’s a housewife without a husband, a porcelain doll living in luxury under the thumb of her mother (Lauren Bacall, characteristically chic but cruel) and a fiancé whom she does not love. Her denial easily buckles as little Sean’s displays of devotion intensify, his refusal to stop bothering her skirting the line between bratty and heroically romantic. There’s a bravado sequence when Anna attends the opera and the camera slowly pushes in from a wide shot to Kidman’s face as it registers dozens of conflicting emotions: anguish and ecstasy, grief and wonder. (The scene recalls the radical close-ups of Maria Falconetti in The Passion Of Joan Of Arc or of Anna Karina in Vivre Sa Vie.) Things get weird when Anna starts spending time with the boy, selfishly keeping him from his working-class parents, themselves deeply affected by their son’s bizarre obsession. A risqué bathtub scene has the supposed husband and wife sitting naked across from each in the water; there’s no touching, but stillness and silence flood the room with palpable, indefensible desire.

Birth received mixed reviews at the time of its release, but has entered a phase of reappraisal since the success of Under The Skin cued more folks into Glazer’s particular brand of unearthly eroticism. In the film’s prologue, a long tracking shot follows adult Sean as he jogs through a snowy Central Park in the final moments before his fatal stroke. We can’t quite make out his face. The rest of the movie hinges on the possibility of an afterlife; its saturated color palette and uncanny, open spaces seem to point to supernatural forces at work. But Glazer strategically obscures Sean’s identity in these first minutes to destabilize the notion of reincarnation. How can we trust this boy who claims to be Sean when we don’t even know who Sean is in the first place? Glazer builds an afterlife, or at least the semblance of an afterlife, from the stuff of Anna’s desire—desire unfulfilled and unreturned, desire battered by grief, desperation, and jealousy. It’s an afterlife cobbled together from the memory of what could have been.
